General:

Let visitors submit links and logos to your site. Their links will only be added to the main data file once you have approved them. Random sponsored links can be placed on top of all links like the ones in Google.

• Administrator can add records to main database directly.
• Administrator can evaluate records posted by visitors before accepting them.
• Administrator can edit, delete or hold records posted by visitors.

  Random Sponsored Links
   
• This feature can be turned off if not wanted. You may specify the number of sponsored links to show.
  
  
  
  Automatic Image Shrinking
   
• Submission may include an image - usually the site's logo. Format accepted are JPG, PNG and GIF.
• If the JPG or PNG image submitted is huge in dimension, the script will automatically resize/resample it to the dimension you specified in the configuration file. This way, the visitor may include an image even if it is several Mb in filesize ..... the script will do the shrinking.
• No automatic image shrinking will be done on GIF images due to the CompuServe's GIF patent issues. However, filesize checking will be performed on GIFs. The visitor will be asked to resubmit the record if the filesize of the attached GIF is too big.
• Administrator can add, delete or replace images in existing records.

  Email Notification
   
• Email sent to Administrator when a new link is submitted for approval.
• Email sent to visitor when he has submitted a new link for approval.

  SSI Category Counter
   
• Optional use of plug-in script to show number of records in each category.
  
  
  
  Calendar Selector
   
• Input date using a popup calendar.
• The color, text, weekday titles and month titles can be changed.
  
  
  
  Style
   
• Your own header and footer. Just create a normal web page and place +++ (three plus signs) at the location you want the results to be printed.
• Can change style of text, links, popup tooltips and other appearances by editing the stylesheet "main.css" or changing the settings in the configuration file "config.cgi".

• Records in search result can be sorted by title, category or ID sequence.
• The Webmaster, Location and Country field input can be made required or optional.

Installation:

• Configuration should take less than 2 minutes unless you want to spend time changing the default settings.

Requirement:

• Perl
• No MySQL needed.
• SSI only needed if you want to run the category counter.
• The popup tooltip, popup calendar, http:// insertion buttons work in all popular browsers we have tested including IE6, IE7-beta, Opera 8+ and Netscape 8+.
  
  Note:
   
• The Perl GD module is required for the image resizing/resampling feature to work. To find out whether you have this module installed in your server, upload this Perl Diver script to your cgi-bin, chmod to 755 and point to it with your browser. If you have the Perl GD module installed, you will find "GD" printed under the Installed Modules section. Alternatively, you may check with your server administrator.
   
• The core script which contains the license information is encrypted to prevent unauthorized use of this product.
• The search result is highly customizable by editing template.htm (header/footer), main.css (stylesheet), cal_config.js (popup calendar config) and config.cgi (configuration file).

Upgrade:

• This product replaces the old @1 Link Submission & Approval System I, II and III. These old products are now phased out and no longer supported. Customers who purchased the old link script may get a free upgrade (subject to $10 license generation handling fee). Details here.

- The free version is fully functional with all features as in the commercial version. The only limitations are: (a) Number of sponsored links displayed is fixed at "1" (b) Number of links displayed per page is fixed at "3" per page (c) No referral check (d) The presence of the UPOINT logo stamping.

• License for one IP address. You can use the script for multiple domains if your websites are hosted on the same server using the same shared IP address. $10 for each additional server IP address.
