Title: General Help: Help! We have a non-standard weird server. I followed all standard instruction but many of my scripts still don't run.
Some hosting ISPs are using non-standard configuration (usually related to security issues) which might make installation of CGI scripts problematic. For example:
• The use of cgiWrap.
• Running of cgi scripts outside cgi bin not allowed.
• Cgi bin is located outside the root.
• The use of "exec cgi" SSI tags not allowed.
• Chmod of folders to 777 giving script-execution errors.
• Outdated Perl version (we are using the latest 5.006+).
• Incomplete standard Perl Modules installed.
• The use of Crontab not allowed.
We do not believe that the above must step in before a secured server can be setup. If you are having the above problems, you might want to consider UPOINT's Linux web hosting. With our sound knowledge as well as a strong technical team, we are able to provide a CGI-friendly server for you - with utmost security.
We guarantee that all UPOINT's scripts can be executed properly under this server because we do not have the above-mentioned problems.
