UPOINT:: CGI Scripts: FAQ

Title: @1 Web Publisher: Why is there no image upload feature in @1 Web Publisher?
We purposely left it out. See why ....

We purposely excluded the image upload feature due to these reasons:

• To make the edit mode user-friendly.

• To keep the codes simple (and hence a small overall file size) so that the script executes lightning-fast.

• There are already many free image upload tools out there in the cgi libraries. They can be used in conjunction with @1 Web Publisher. It is more suitable than to add an upload image feature in the @1 Web Publisher since those third-party image upload tools are specifically meant for such purposes. We recommend the FREE FileMan from Gossamer Threads.

Using a Third-Party Image Upload Tool:

- Assuming the image upload tool uploads your images to yourdomain.com/uploadimages/.
- Set yourdomain.com/uploadimages/ as the default image folder in the script (at the configuration part).
- To display an image, simply upload the image using that third-party tool. Then insert the filename (no need to place full URL, only the filename is needed) of the image in the image field at the Edit Interface.
