Steps of installing the script.
Set 1:
- cboard_desktop.cgi
- cboard_desktop_titles.cgi
- admin_desktop.htm
- template_desktop.htm
Set 2:
- cboard_handheld.cgi
- cboard_handheld_titles.cgi
- admin_handheld.htm
- template_handheld.htm
- pic.gif
- nopic.gif
Note that the Step B2 configuration parts are similar but NOT exactly the same. Make sure you point to the correct files. Also, you may install only Set 1 or Set 2 or BOTH.
Installation instruction:
1) Open all the four *.cgi scripts and configure the variables under "Step B2". Note that the configuration parts are similar but NOT exactly the same. Make sure you point to the correct files.
2) Upload all the four *.cgi scripts to the cgi bin. Chmod to 755.
3) Create a folder called "contentboard" (www.yourdomain.com/contentboard/). Chmod this folder to 777 (or leave it as the default - depending on your server).
4) Upload all other *.htm and *.gif files to the "contentboard" folder above.
5) Lastly, remember to modify the form action URLs in "admin_desktop.htm" and "admin_handheld.htm". There are two URLs in each file.
Usage:
1) To access the admin mode, use the form "admin_desktop.htm" or "admin_handheld.htm".
2) To access the headlines page, point to "cboard_desktop_titles.cgi" or "cboard_handheld_titles.cgi".
3) To access the full article page (one page after another), point to "cboard_desktop.cgi" or "cboard_handheld.cgi".
4) To point to an article individually, use the link "cboard_desktop.cgi?Reference=XXXXXX" where XXXXXX is a 6-digit number.
