At UPOINT, there are two ways you can control the DNS of your domain names:
  1. By registering domain names at UPOINT. Our Domain Manager has a built-in DNS control that allows you to do some basic DNS setup.

  2. By using our DNS Station Control to control your existing domain names (you do not need to register your domain names with us). This is much more powerful compared to item 1 and is suitable for advanced users.

UPOINT provides DNS control services at only US$14/year/domain. Just login into your DNS Station Control and edit the settings anytime you like. Changes that you've made are updated instantly!

What can you control?

Basic Features:

  • IP Forwarding
  • Web (URL) Forwarding
  • Mail Forwarding
  • MX Mail Server
  • Web Parking
  • Round Robin DNS

Advanced Features:

  • CNAME (alias)
  • SOA
  • Responsible Parties (PR)
  • Text Data (TXT)
  • LOC Records
  • PTR Records
  • AAAA Records
  • Failover service (Additional US$10)
  • Slave Domain

Note:
Limited to 200 Mb of usage per domain per year. Usually DNS hits are cached, so even the busiest sites won't go over the 200 MB limit. 200 MB should get you about 1,000,000 DNS queries. A typical site uses 5 MB per year of DNS bandwidth. If you operate a giant site and exceed the limit, simply made additional payment.

Please note that we do not provide technical support for the Advanced Features as they are meant for the experts only. However, basic FAQ is available.

Quick setup guides:

  • You must already own a domain name. If not, please register a new domain.

  •  Create a DNS Station Control account.

    <<  Signup Now  >>

  • You will get your username and password via email in 24 hours, with 8 hours being the average.

  • Login to your account.

  • Select the domain name you want to edit (all domains that you have signed up are listed).

  • Make DNS changes as you like. Then proceed to Step 2.

Step 2:

  • Register a new domain OR change the nameservers and IP addresses of your existing domain name to:
         ns1.updnnetwork.net 216.98.150.25
         ns2.updnnetwork.net 216.122.4.133
You can usually do this yourself at your domain registrar's website. If you do not know what to do, read our FAQ or contact your registrar.

  • Wait for 2 ~ 3 days for your new nameservers settings to fully propagate in the Internet. Once the nameservers are fully propagated, changes you made in Step 1 will become effective.
